Hobballah: Disarming Resistance would favor "Israel" and represent a kind of infidelity to Lebanon
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 19-9-2008
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Hobballah said on Friday that the situation in Lebanon has changed since the Doha Agreement.
In an interview with Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, Hobballah added that relations between Hizbullah and the Progressive Socialist Party do not aim to prepare for an electoral battle but to strengthen the peace.
He affirmed that the meeting did not provoke the Free Patriotic Movement, which supports openness between different parties.
Hobballah also said that acceptance of Hizbullah's weapons is strategic and not temporary, given that Hizbullah's military capability is a consistently powerful factor in Lebanon. Disarming the Resistance, Hobballah concluded, would favor "Israel" and represent a kind of infidelity to Lebanon.
