Qmati: Hizbullah, Future Movement Meeting Soon
Source: Al-Manar TV, 19-9-2008
Deputy Head of Hizbullah political bureau Mahmoud Qmati announced a meeting would join Hizbullah and Future movement officials in a few days, as a result for ongoing efforts to achieve a political reconciliation in Beirut between the two parties.
Speaking to Al-Manar, Qmati did not specify the identity or the rank of the officials who would take part in the meeting, but noted that technical obstacles, mainly concerning the proper location, were behind the postponement of the meeting between Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Future MP Saad Hariri. However, he stressed that both party leaders expressed their intention to have this meeting. "We have no doubt that "Israel" is ready to level Hariri's residence from if it knows that Sayyed Nasrallah is inside regardless of Saad Hariri," Hariri advisers told Al-Akhbar daily.
Qmati also called on the Lebanese people to fortify and consolidate their unity and make every possible effort to achieve reconciliation. "The "Israeli" enemy might see assassinations useless and eventually stop them," he noted.
Meanwhile, Al-Akhbar said that a meeting is likely to be held between a high-level Hizbullah delegation and Hariri in Qoreitem (Hariri's headquarters) during the coming days. It said the delegation will either be headed by the head of Hizbullah Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine or Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem.
