Fneish: Resistance gives meaning and value to Lebanon
Source: nowlebanon.com, 21-09-2008
Labor Minister Mohammed Fneish said that the roundtable dialogue should discuss the means of protecting Lebanon and complement the process of liberating the currently occupied territories.
During an Iftar celebration on Saturday night in Tyre, Fneish said that Hizbullah's weapons should not be considered a problem because the Resistance gave a meaning and a value to the state, and was the strong point of the state's agenda.
Fneish said that international concern about Lebanon was intended to reassert the dignity of the ‘Israeli' authorities after the achievements of the Resistance during the 2006 July War.
He affirmed that Hizbullah would seriously discuss issues during the dialogue, because Hizbullah's agenda did not contradict that of the state.
Fneish said that Lebanon's difficulties could only be solved by achieving partnerships between different parties, and not by authoritarianism and isolation.
He emphasized the necessity of reconciliation, especially at the beginning of the national dialogue, in order to prevent any attempt to exploit security tensions to create sedition among the Lebanese people and commit more assassinations.
