Hizbullah foreign affairs official Nawwaf Moussawi spoke out on Sunday against a UN conference on religion proposed by "Israel".
Addressing a political gathering organized by Hizbullah, Moussawi said that "Israel" had called for a UN conference called "Dialogue between Religions," and said, "first, this conference has no relation with dialogue among religions; it is rather a backdoor way of enforcing normalization with "Israel"." He expressed concern that the aim of the conference was to make "Israel" a key member countries of the region, which have long had troubled relations with "Israel".
Second, he said, it is remarkable that the one preparing for this dialogue among religions, and who would give the opening speech, is former "Israeli" PM Shimon Peres who massacred more than 100 Lebanese civilians at the UN base in Qana.
"The Resistance defended Lebanon, confronted the attack in July 2006 and it forbids and will forbid any "Israeli" attack on Lebanon," said Moussawi, who also spoke out against, "Arab money flowing to finance the parliamentary elections. This money was not able to transport a bottle of water to West Beirut when it was under siege in 1982."
Moussawi added that Lebanese allies of the American administration knew that the latter was ready to sell them and to sell the whole of Lebanon to protect "Israeli" security and to protect America oil interests.
"How can the UN accept that a slaughterer, who has carried out massacres in one of its bases in the South talk about dialogue among religions?" said Moussawi, adding that it was shameful that the UN commits such a "sin" and the only suitable place for Peres was before the International Justice Court to be judged on his war crimes and the inhuman and racial crimes he committed against the Lebanese and the Palestinians.
"Does Judaism accept being represented by such a criminal who has committed the worst atrocities ever against the populations of the region? How can we let "Israel" be the exclusive and legitimate representative of the Jews?" Moussawi asked.
Moussawi also rejected any sort of negotiations with "Israel". "If the UN wants to take an actual and beneficial initiative, it has an opportunity in Lebanon through stopping "Israeli" air space violations which are a violation to Lebanese sovereignty and a continuous violation to UNSCR 1701," he said.
