UAE rebuilds 268 schools in South Lebanon

BEIRUT: The United Arab Emirates Project for the Reconstruction of Lebanon has announced the completion of rebuilding and restoring of 268 schools damaged during the summer 2006 war with "Israel", the project's committee announced during a news conference on Thursday. The news conference was held at the Lebanese Education Ministry and was attended by Education Minister Khaled Qabani, UAE Ambassador Mohammad Sultan al-Suwaidi, and the project's media officer, Abdullah Khalifa al-Ghafli. Suwaidi said the UAE's assistance to Lebanese stems from "a spirit of love, brotherhood and solidarity."
