Secretary General of the George Hawi Youth Organization Rafi Madayan told New TV on Wednesday that setting March 1 for the beginning of the Special Tribunal on former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri's assassination is not a coincidence but intended to be before the parliamentary elections.
He talked about information that, after Head of the International Independent Investigation Committee Daniel Bellemare's visit to Saudi Arabia, Syria will once again be a suspect.

He added that some Syrians would be submitted before the tribunal as have the four arrested Lebanese generals, in addition to some Lebanese officials such as former President Emile Lahoud, former Prime Minister Omar Karami, former ministers Wiam Wahhab, Naji al-Boustany, Abdel Rahim Murad.
He suggested that any of these person's could be called to The Hague especially without guarantees.

He added that the tribunal was subject to political incitements and said that the Kingdom or some of the Bush administration officials were unlikely to use their authorities in the tribunal.
"If my doubts are right, the elections will not occur," he said.

He regretted that after three years, the IIIC, Lebanese judicial authorities and security services have all reached no conclusions. He noted that security services leadership "informed us that the networks of Mahmoud Rafaa and Hassan Khattab were tracking Hawi's house but they still do not know who committed the assassination."

Madayan also said that he discussed with the IIIC the issue of the fundamentalist organizations and the so-called "new-Qaeda" in Lebanon. He said that these networks were penetrated by American, "Israeli", Saudi, Jordanian and even Syrian intelligence.

Madayan added that the networks of Rafaa and Ali al-Jarrah were interconnected with the fundamentalist organizations present in Ain al-Hilweh such as Jund al-Sham and others.
He also said that everybody knew the relation of these groups with the Mossad that operated in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and others. Madayan said that the same American RDX explosives were used in the assassinations of Palestinians all the way until Hawi's assassination. "Isn't this connection weird?" he asked.
