Hizbullah official in South Lebanon, Sheikh Nabil Qaouk, said that the Resistance strategy has changed many equations in Lebanon and in the region. Qaouk said they would reject any defense strategy that pleased the United States and "Israel".

"We support the defense strategy that ‘Israel' fears and we are concerned with protecting this strategy. There is no retraction because ‘Israel' is gambling that Lebanon will return to a period of weakness and illusions," he said.

During a ceremony in Sour on Saturday, Qaouk said that as the 2009 parliamentary elections neared in Lebanon and "Israel", the level of violations, attacks and "Israeli" threats escalated. He added that no day has passed without "Israel" violating Lebanese airspace.

Qaouk also commented on the issue of compensations for July War victims, saying that Prime Minister Fouad Saniora's handling of the compensation money was individual, provocative and extortionate.

Qaouk said that Hizbullah would not allow any mistreatment of the people who have sacrificed a lot and said it had given Saniora many chances to correct his mistakes. Qaouk said that Hizbullah and the Amal Movement had a unified stance and were determined to take the rights of all the people affected by the 2006 July War.
