Yemen Strikes “Israeli” Target, US Aircraft Carrier in Retaliation for Aggression

The Yemeni Armed Forces have launched two separate retaliatory operations—one targeting the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its escorts in the Red Sea, and another striking a key site deep within “Israeli”-occupied territory—in response to renewed US airstrikes on Yemen.

In a statement issued Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni military, announced that naval and air force units had jointly targeted the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and accompanying US warships using domestically produced cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones. The attack reportedly forced the Harry S. Truman and its escorts to retreat northward.

Saree emphasized that the strikes were carried out in retaliation for recent deadly US air raids on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and a migrant detention facility in the city of Saada.

He warned that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue to pursue and strike the US Navy vessel and all hostile warships operating in the Red and Arabian Seas as long as the aggression against Yemen persists.

Separately, Saree confirmed that Yemeni drone units launched a precision strike on a strategic site in Ashkelon, located in the southern area of the “Israeli”-occupied territories. The attack employed the domestically developed Yaffa unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to Saree, this operation was a direct act of solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza, who continue to suffer under the ongoing “Israeli” genocidal campaign.

“We will persist in preventing the movement of ‘Israeli’-affiliated ships through the Red and Arabian Seas, and will confront US aggression with full force. Our support for our steadfast brothers in Gaza will continue until the brutal attacks end and the blockade is fully lifted,” he stated.

In response to the crimes committed by “Israel” in Gaza and the military offensives launched by the US and UK against Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces have expanded their operations to target “Israeli”, American, and British interests across the Red Sea and surrounding regions.

As the Gaza genocide escalates, the Yemenis have enforced a strategic maritime blockade aimed at disrupting the supply of weapons to “Israel” and compelling the international community to respond to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to continuing these operations until “Israel” halts its ground and aerial aggression on Gaza.
