US warplanes have launched a barrage of airstrikes across multiple provinces in Yemen since early Sunday, as the Yemeni Armed Forces intensify their retaliatory operations against “Israeli” and coalition targets in the Red Sea and the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to Yemen’s al-Masirah television channel, the US carried out at least 35 airstrikes on various locations, including Al-Jawf, Marib, Hodeida and Saada. The strikes come as part of Washington’s ongoing military campaign aimed at undermining Yemen’s growing resistance operations in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

A security source cited by the Yemeni News Agency SABA confirmed that ten of the strikes targeted the al-Hazm district in al-Jawf, while three more hit the Majzar district in Marib. Previous attacks had also targeted the Takhiya area in Majz district, the Sahar district in Saada, Ras Issa in Hudaydah, and Kamaran Island. Overnight Saturday, US warplanes conducted additional strikes on Madghal and al-Salif districts.

Since March 15, the administration of US President Donald Trump has intensified its daily aerial assault on Yemen, claiming to have hit more than 1,000 targets in an effort to stop Yemeni operations against “Israeli” and “Israeli”-linked vessels transiting the Red Sea.

On Saturday, Yemen’s Armed Forces confirmed a fourth missile strike within 24 hours against “Israeli”-occupied territories. Air raid sirens were triggered across multiple locations as Sana’a targeted a military site south of “Tel Aviv” in what was described by Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree as a successful retaliatory operation.

Yemen has repeatedly declared its military actions a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza, who have endured a devastating genocidal campaign by “Israel” since October 2023. The Yemeni resistance has since expanded its operations to target ships linked to “Israel” as well as critical “Israeli” positions deep inside occupied land.

As a show of support for “Israel”, the US formed a maritime coalition in December 2023 to secure shipping lanes leading to the occupied territories. In response, Yemeni forces escalated their strikes against sensitive “Israeli” and “American” positions, including targeting US aircraft carriers operating near Yemeni waters.

In a further sign of military escalation, US War Secretary Pete Hegseth has extended the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier strike group in West Asia for an additional week, the second such extension in recent weeks. The Truman, stationed in the Red Sea, was originally scheduled to return to Norfolk, Virginia, in March. Meanwhile, the USS Carl Vinson, based in San Diego, continues to operate in the Gulf of Aden.

The sustained military buildup underscores Washington’s determination to end Yemeni resistance operations targeting “Israeli”-linked maritime routes while Yemen remains resolute in its support for the besieged Palestinian population.
