Moussawi: US Trying to Pressure Lebanon into Slaughtering Syria

Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary bloc member MP Nawaf Moussawi said that the United States, through its pressure on Lebanon, is trying to slaughter Syria and sow discord among its people.
Speaking at an inftar in Tyre, the MP said for the first time in Lebanon. "We have a government that wants to serve the interest of all the Lebanese people first and last and is also keen to shelter Lebanon from the American-"Israeli" tempest."
He added that the ambition of the Lebanese is to develop positions so "we can be pioneers in the inter-Arab dialogue in every Arab state."
The MP voiced his support for the resumption of dialogue during the month of Ramadan among all Lebanese factions and cast their difference aside, warning against the sectarian and suicidal speeches.
Moussawi stressed that this cabinet will not allow any US or Western ambassador to determine Lebanon's position.
"We and our partners in this cabinet managed to regain this decision and rejected all US pressures that aimed at embroiling Lebanon in the conflict in Syria."
He added that the current government will restore all the public funds that were misappropriated by former cabinets, adding that the finance ministry was run by certain powers against all rules and regulations.
The MP accused some embassies in Lebanon of intervening in domestic affairs and hold deals away from the watchful eyes of the official security apparatus.
He added that some groups in Lebanon are fomenting strife in Syria as well as supplying weapons to some factions in this country.
