Lebanese Prime Minister described the stage through which the country is passing as "delicate", noting that the "government seeks to prevent the repercussions of the crisis surrounding the region, and gives the priority to national dialogue in order to enhance domestic unity".
In this context, PM Mikati bargained on the "awareness and wisdom of all political leaders".
During the opening ceremony of the Lebanese Economic Forum in the Coral Beach Hotel Beirut, Lebanese PM indicated that the security situation in Lebanon is contained.
He also stressed that "Lebanon should be spared any security implications", warning that any "risk in the security situation will drive Lebanon a long way back, and its shrapnel will affect everyone without exception".
Furthermore, PM Mikati confirmed Lebanon's support to "the just Arab causes, and to the stability and evolution of the Arab world on the political, economic, and social levels".
He renewed Lebanon's commitment to international resolutions, stressing that "the just and comprehensive peace in the region will alone remain the key to regional stability".
On the Lebanese economic level, Mikati pointed to the "good reputation of the Lebanese banking sector", expressing confidence that the "Lebanese economy is able to overcome all difficulties despite what surrounds Lebanon".
"Our economy is able to overcome all difficulties as stability returns and is endorsed", Mikati affirmed.
Moreover, Lebanese PM went on to say, "We sent the budget to the cabinet and there will be an effective workshop that would reflect the delicacy of the [Lebanese] economic situation".
