Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc member MP Hassan Fadlallah assured in a news conference Wednesday that the US official recognition of a spying CIA US embassy-located office in Beirut was perilous and tantamount a blatant admission of violation of Lebanese sovereignty and national security.

The Los Angeles Times on Sunday revealed that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was compelled to tone down its spying activities in Lebanon, "where agents and employees glean important information about Syria, terrorist organizations, and other targets, following the arrest of a number of the agency's rapporteurs in Beirut this year." A US senior official had stated that Hezbollah was a very complicated enemy. "It is a very determined terrorist group, a strong political actor, and a powerful military organization; No one can underestimate it," he had said.

Fadlallah said this CIA post indeed violated international law and UN charter.

"This dangerous aggression requires an immediate reaction from the Lebanese government, which we call to put this affair on top of its next session's agenda and to prepare a complete dossier, in view of further submission to the United Nations, international instances, and ambassadors," he confirmed.

But Deputy Fadlallah did not fail to expound that this violation, regardless of its extent, in fact mirrored the bulk of the Resistance's achievement and hard work to preserve national security and fight US and "Israeli" spying.

He renewed calls upon the government to take necessary security and legal measures to ban such violations, suspend this office's activities, and dismantle related installations, believed to comprise tapping devices.
