Aoun: We Are to Resist Our Only Enemy, Interference in Syria Seeks Regime, Not Reform

Head of "Change and Reform Bloc" MP Michel Aoun received a Syrian Women
Delegation and addressed them by saying: "You and We are from common roots, of one culture and your pains fall in our hearts."
Expressing solidarity with the Syrian people, Aoun said that "we contribute to enlighten public opinion so as it won't fall as a prey of terrorism and fear of powers trying to change the map of the region."
In his speech, Aoun emphasized that "we have one enemy that wants to impose its own peace on us," adding that "we will resist and all other things remain as crusts."
"They want the head of the regime and not just reform," he explained.
"I do not believe that the international community, which is supporting the violence movement in Syria, wants to realize human rights," Aoun said during the meeting.
"Is there a people deprived of its human rights more than the Palestinian people?" Aoun wondered stressing that "indications reflect that what the international community seeks isn't in the interests of Syrian People."
Calling the Syrian people to resort to dialogue instead of weapons, the MP stressed the importance of "respecting the freedom of religious and political belief, freedom of expression and freedom of difference within the ceiling of the truth, not in propaganda and lies, and to respect the right of the difference between us."
“The Syrian people should not go through the same experience of the Lebanese in the 1970s. The must ask for dialogue and not violence. We don’t need bullet boxes … we need ballot boxes,” Aoun concluded.
