Lebanese Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri stated that the "Assault targeting the French battalion in Tyr targets the triad protecting Lebanon; the people, army, and resistance."
After his meeting with UNIFIL Troops' commander Alberto Assarta, Speaker Berri clarified, "Therefore rhetoric is not enough for Lebanon and its officials, but we have to work as one people, an army, and resistance, side by side with the UNIFIL in order to immunize the south and Lebanon."
