Aoun Denounces French FM Accusations, Escalating Anti-Resistance Campaign
Head of Lebanese Change and Reform Parliamentary Bloc, MP Michel Aoun confirmed that the recent accusations made by French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe against Syria and Hizbullah, are merely political.
This comes after the French Foreign Minister accused Syria and Hizbullah of being behind the attack on the UNIFIL French battalion in Tyr.
In his weekly press briefing after the bloc's meeting, Aoun questioned the latest escalation in the campaign launched against Hizbullah and the resistance weapons. He confirmed that some parties are looking for ways through which they can "falsely" prove that Hizbullah is seeking war with "Israel", backing his statement with an example of the rockets fired recently by an anonymous party.
On another hand, and regarding the recent decision by Judge Alice Tabshini to release five prisoners accused of treason with the "Israeli" enemy, Aoun stated, "We didn't respond to this issue, because we don't have the file to accuse or convict. We are not responsible for this decision, but there are specialized authorities that ought to examine this issue".
