Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Hussein Hajj Hassan received French Ambassador to Lebanon Denis Pietton and discussed with him the latest local developments.

After the meeting, Minister Hajj Hassan announced that the French Ambassador "made clear that there wasn't any misunderstanding after the statements over the UNIFIL attack.
Moreover, Hajj Hassan confirmed that "the resistance and the government are keen on the stability in the south, and the French Ambassador understood and seemed to be convinced with this issue".

On the Syrian level, Minister of Agriculture stressed that "Lebanon's security relies on that of Syria and that the loyal Lebanese people seek stability in Syria". He also added that the Lebanese stance adopted in the Arab League serves both Lebanon and Syria, because they share joint economic, security, and political interests".

He further reiterated Hizbullah's stance in support for stability and reform in Syria "until it remains the forge of steadfastness and resistance in the region".
