A prominent Lebanese figure confirmed Saturday that "Damascus Friday blasts are a terrorist organized crime carrying the traces of "al-Qaeda" and terrorist organizations."

In remarks to "al-Binaa" Lebanese newspaper, the source stressed that "the attack comes a day after the US withdrawal troops from Iraq which reveals Washington's as well as the powers affected from such withdrawal involvement in the operations, whether in Iraq or Damascus."

"The attacks came as a revenge for the humiliating withdrawal that was culminated by the defeat of US aggression project in the region," the sources revealed.

Confirming that "the purpose of these bombings in the Syrian capital is to expand the scope of crimes and killings by armed and terrorist groups," the daily's sources asserted that "such attacks aim at affecting the Syrian leadership and people and to create a permanent state of instability by pressuring and targeting Syrian economy as previous plots have failed."

"There is an attempt to make Syria sink in the series of bloody incidents after Washington has failed to obtain a Security Council resolution paving the way for military intervention," the source added.

" As US also failed to establish the so-called buffer zones on Turkish, Jordanian or Lebanese borders, it was severely disappointed when its Arab countries allies failed to transform the Arab League into a bridge to cross the country into internationalization," "al-Binaa" quoted the well-informed source.
