The capital of the South Sidon was rescued from a crime that would have resulted from an explosive device weighing about 6 kg of high explosive TNT.

The bomb was found and detonated overnight in the parking lot of a business center in this southern Sidon city.

In the details, the bomb was discovered around 10:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Hijazi Center in Sidon's al-Quds Square.
"
The parking space lies near the building where Sheikh Maher Hammoud resides," "as-Safir" mentioned.

Security forces and Lebanese Army sealed off the area around the center as bomb disposal experts detached the detonator that was primed to trigger an explosion.

"The bomb that weighed around 6 kg was connected to a mobile phone and was found in a box," the daily confirmed.

Imam of al-Quds Mosque Sheikh Maher Hammoud denounced the "criminal act that would have killed innocent people."

In an interview with "al-Intiqad" website, Hammoud described the incident as "dangerous targeting a certain political line especially that the targeted region is of multi political colors."

"The device may be a warning message and it is not clear whether it aimed at targeting to kill people or not."
