Earlier in the day, Bahrainis took to the streets after 11-year-old teenager Yasin Asfour martyred, also due to inhalation of toxic gas. The protesters demanded that the government halt the violence against anti-regime demonstrators.

Meanwhile, the whole country was engulfed in thick smoke as Bahrainis sought to
inform the international community that their revolution had come to remain and achieve its goals.

The regime had organized an Air Show as a means of deception to the international community that all is stable and the people's revolt had ended.

The 14th February Alliance that had led the revolution called for a special country-wide event under the theme "The mourning of the sky".
