Imam Khamenei Representative in Syria Condemns Oppression of Bahraini People

Ayatollah Sayyed Mujtaba al-Husseini, representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei in Damascus assured to al-Intiqad that the Bahrani regime has so far spent millions of dollars on Formula 1 races and on oppressing peaceful protests; which comes in context of a political game through which the government aims at shutting up the Bahrain people.
Al-Husseini condemned the crackdown on the peaceful protests in the Gulf country, especially when these peaceful protests are in support of rights activists such as Abdul Hadi al-Khawaja, as well as in support of reform and freedom.
"The West and Saudi Arabia want to remain dominant in the region. They have spent tremendous sums of money to prevent the peoples from attaining freedom, by that eliminating the hegemony of these powers that only care about their interests," he noted.
