Human Chain on Friday In front of Beirut UN Headquarter: Release al-Khawaja
The Bahraini Forum for Human Rights will form a human chain in front of the United Nations headquarter in Beirut's Riad Solh Square tomorrow, Friday, 13/4/2012, at eleven o'clock in the morning, announced the media office of the Bahraini opposition abroad.
The protest will demand the release of the international human rights activist Abdul Hadi al-Khawaja, who has now been on hunger strike for 64 days in Bahraini regime prisons, in addition to all prisoners of conscience in the Bahraini jails.
Al-Khawaja, who began a hunger strike in early February in protest against his life sentence, is now feared dead, according to his lawyer Mohammed al-Jeshi.
Mohammed al-Jeshi said on Monday that Bahraini authorities have turned down repeated requests to contact him since Sunday and that no information was available on al- Khawaja's health.
