Head of the Change and Reform Bloc, MP Gen. Michel Aoun assured "It is forbidden to force the country into a vacuum and the government will continue to work effectively."

In a statement to As-Safir newspaper, Aoun slammed the March 14 coalition's call on the government to resign, noting "the opposition's suggestions have exceeded all reasonable limits of logic."

He stressed that the two currently suggested forms of the government, the national unity government and the neutral salvation Cabinet, "are not realistic," adding that "if a new government must be formed, the best thing would be to form a small government that only includes the heads of parliamentary blocs."

Furthermore, Aoun considered that dialogue must be constructive and have a goal. He assured that the dialogue table is set between two choices, the Resistance choice or that of surrender.
