’ISIL’ Using Brute Means to Crush Iraqis: Amnesty International

According to Amnesty International, the rights group said it has evidence of spiraling killings and abductions being used at the hands of so-called "Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant" [ISIL] Takfiri militants in Iraq, as it recently said on its website.
The Britain-based group described the "ISIL's" assaults on Iraqi civilians as atrocious, saying the militants are using abduction and murder as key tools to crush people.
"Abduction and killings of captives seem to be among the key tools used by the group to crush opponents and intimidate civilians," said Donatella Rovera, as the senior Amnesty adviser said during a briefing.
The group also said it has gathered evidence showing that militants abduct people in every single village or town they overrun.
"ISIL is continuing to overrun villages in northern Iraq that were left unprotected since the Iraqi army left a month ago," added Rovera.
Furthermore, the group also said it has documented a series of incidents where militants deliberately killed those whom they had captured.
The "ISIL" militants have issued several statements in recent days calling for the destruction of all religious and historic sites in the country.
Recently, several gruesome videos were released, purportedly showing members of the "ISIL" militant group brutally killing people in drive-by shootings in Iraq.
