Gaza raids are signs of "Israeli" failure
Source: alalalm.ir, 13-03-2008
GAZA Strip-A senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement says the recent escalation of Zionists attacks against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip show the "Israeli" occupation regime's failure to achieve its goals.
In an exclusive interview with Alalam Wednesday, Mohammad Al-Hindi said: "The "Israeli" occupation regime has been perplexed after it was dealt a blow by the Palestinian resistance, in addition to their failure in the 34-day conflict in Lebanon.''
He blasted the Arab world's silence over incidents in Gaza as a very shameful action, adding the latest "Israeli" massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip "shows that the regime could not overcome Palestinian people in spite of their miseries in the region."
Al-Hindi further said the resistance movement was ready to stop rocket attacks into occupied border cities, "provided the ‘Israelis' break the deadlock on the impoverished Gaza and end its atrocities in the coastal strip."
The Gaza Strip has been reeling under an "Israeli"-imposed siege since last June.
The remarks came just hours before "Israeli" planes hit northern Gaza Strip Thursday, effectively ending a lull in the violence since March 8, the occupying regime's armed forces announced.
An army spokesman claimed: "The ‘Israelis' air force raid targeted a rocket launch that was ready to fire in the Beit Hanun area in the northern Gaza Strip."
At least 351 people, most of them Gazans, have been killed since the occupying regime and the Palestinians formally relaunched peace talks at a US conference in late November, according to media count.
Wednesday's deaths also brought to 6,314 the number of people killed since the start of the second Palestinian uprising in September 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinians.
The latest spiral of fighting began just hours after Hamas' prime minister in Gaza called for a period of calm with "Israel" after laying out conditions.
