Jumblatt calls for discussion on defense strategy to defend Lebanon & reinforce its defensive capabilities

Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt called for a "serious and deep discussion" on the defense strategy, "to defend Lebanon and reinforce its defensive capabilities."

He stressed that "it is important to fortify the domestic arena through forming a national unity government, in which most of the political parties are represented."

Jumblatt described the western support for Iranian opposition politicians as "suspicious and void, just like the verbal support for March 14 forces, which we can live without."

Jumblatt said that "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's latest speech had "torpedoed any possibility of compromise... and this may lead to explosive consequences in the region."
