"Israel" Kills Palestinian in Gaza Attack
Source: Alalam.ir, 9-1-2008
GAZA CITY--The Zionist regime killed one Palestinian and wounded 4 others in the northern Gaza Strip early on Wednesday, hours before US President George W. Bush was to arrive in the region.
Amjad Abdel Dayem, 24, was a member of the Islamic Jihad group, medics said.
The occupying regime army spokeswoman also confirmed the attack, saying "the military carried out an attack on a group of Palestinians in Beit Lahiya".
Bush was to land in the "Israeli" occupied territories around midday on the first trip to the Zionist state and the Palestinian territories by a sitting US president in nine years.
The visit, which will also take him to a string of allied Arab countries, is aimed at bolstering the recently revived "Israeli"-Palestinian talks.
Wednesday's death brought to 6,042 the number of people killed since 2000, the vast majority of them Palestinian, according to an AFP tally.
