Al-Hoss Answers Hariri: Resistance Arms A Country’s Principle

Local Editor
Former Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss said Friday that "the resistance arms are a principle of the country that should not be up for debate under National Dialogue talks.
In an imbedded rejection to former PM Saad Hariri's call that national dialogue to address resistance weapons; al-Hoss issued a statement saying that "the resistance's arms remain one of the Lebanese principles as long as the brutal "Israeli" enemy is crouching at our borders, not hesitating to attack us."
According to al-Hoss, if the topic of arms is to come up in National Dialogue, the discussion must be in the context of the "Israeli" continuous threat.
"Isn't there a need to resist if our country is attacked? How can we resist without arms?" former PM asked, stressing that "resisting attack would create a balance of terror between Lebanon and "Israel"."
"Due to the resistance's arms, "Israel" is now aware that any attack it undertakes against Lebanon will not pass without punishment, despite the fact that battlefield conditions still favor "Israel", which enjoys superior military capabilities as well as international support," al-Hoss concluded.
