Hizbullah SG: STL Indictment Unjust, Not Based on Direct Proof

During the annual Iftar ceremony for the Islamic Resistance Support association held for women across the country, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah highlighted Hizbullah's stance towards the latest indictment report released by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the group which is closely aligned with the US has done everything it can to distort the image of the resistance; however, what he considered that what is being done now is more than merely distorting the image of the resistance. He considered it part of a major plot to target the national, social and sectarian coexistence of Lebanese society: "What has been happening recently is worse than smear campaigns, because their campaigns had failed given that all the polls have proven that the resistance still enjoys wide support.
What’s happening now is an attempt at undermining and sabotaging the social fabric, paving the ground for wars and civil strife, dragging the resistance into civil strife and consequently striking the resistance and harming its credibility".
"We will not be dragged into sedition," Sayyed Nasrallah stressed.
Nasrallah explained that Lebanon's structure is based on sectarian divide and that the latest statements made by the march 14th coalition and the reports released by the Tribunal want to picture that it is the Shiites who are targeting the Sunnis and the Christians in Lebanon. The resistance is generally perceived as being Shiite as a result of geographic divisions of Lebanon; however, many Lebanese from various sects are supportive of the resistance. This plot, as Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out, aims at ruining the relations between the Shiites and Sunnis, Shiites and Maronites, Shiites and Druze. "They want to create hatred and sedition between the sects and hurt the national unity that Lebanon is living".
His Eminence reiterated that the release of the indictment from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon is part of that plot: "this release shows that all we have said is correct. We were right to say that this tribunal is not just, nor is it neutral. The Prosecutor General Belmare said that there was no side that knew about the investigation and that it was purely confidential. We know now that those were all lies. What we read in media leaks years ago are the exact duplicate of the indictment."
Sayyed Nasrallah said that there was no clear and direct proof, but that it is merely focused on telecoms data, which merely show several calls taking place at the time of the assassination or after or before.
This is considered by His Eminence as pure injustice and that four men will be unjustly accused since as the Tribunal is saying are part of a group that has the capability to take on such operations. "We know more than ever that this tribunal is politicized", Hizbullah Secretary General indicated.
Sayyed Nasrallah regretted the fact that the tribunal did not take into consideration the fact that "Israel" could be a potential suspect.
Furthermore, he gave the example of the assassination of Secretary General of the communist party George Hawi in Lebanon which is now linked to the Hariri case, while it is a fact that Hawi was one of the leaders of the national resistance and "Israel" should be a primary suspect.
Sayyed nasrallah reiterated that Hizbullah has through several reports and press conferences proved the fact that Lebanon's telecoms system is violated by "Israeli" intelligence and that we cannot depend on the telecoms data collected by the mobile networks which were also breached by "Israel".
"There is one group in Lebanon who are aligned with the US have failed in everything. The miserable faces that we saw in august 14th 2006 can do more than just distort the truth, they asked the US to let "Israel" continue its war against Lebanon." Sayyed Nasrallah was clearly pointing out to March 14th.
"I am optimistic," he said lauding the awareness of Lebanon's national leaders who have been helpful in to surpass this crisis until now.
"Another thing is the awareness of the resistance; we will not be taken by many political disputes. We are aware where the true target is."
"I assure you, to all the people of Lebanon and all those supporting the resistance in the Arab and Muslim world: all this pressure will not be able to hurt the readiness of the resistance."
"And I assure you that the resistance will stay ready and capable of protecting Lebanon and its people and its resources based on the tripod formula the people resistance and army", Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized.
"We insist on the national unity of the Lebanese people, and we will stand against sedition in Lebanon. Our strength lies in the fact that they cannot target our will; our morale is related to the heavens that is why no one on earth can harm our moral".
"This resistance is proud of your support and as long as you believe it is trust worthy, it will never let you down."His Eminence stated.
