Grand Mufti Qabbani to Qahwaji: Lebanese Appreciate, Love and Trust Army and Its Leadership

Lebanese Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani welcomed Lebanese Army Brigadier General Jean Qahwaji in Dar Al Fatwa on Monday, who visited the Mufti on the occasion of Al Fitr Eid.

Qahwaji thanked the Grand Mufti for his stances that support the Lebanese army.
Mufti Qabbani assured that "safeguarding Lebanon's stability and safety is in the hand of the army, and there no room for manipulating the security of the Lebanese people."

He reiterated that the army and its resistance are the place of the Lebanese people's love, trust and hope, as the army is the guarantee to Lebanon's safety and stability. Furthermore, he called on the Lebanese to stand by the army and support it to cut the road on any strife or incitement.

Lebanon's Grand Mufti earlier this week, while attending the inauguration of a mosque in the southern town of Shebaa, called for a huge support for the Lebanese army, hailing it as the only remaining institution to guarantee unity of Lebanese.

"There is still an opportunity to preserve our unity and coexistence and cooperate to build the future of generations," Mufti Qabbani said. "The army is the only institution that guarantees the unity of our nation Lebanon and if the military falls apart then there would no longer be any Lebanon," the Mufti said in a rare visit to the South, adding "We should support the military leadership ... to allow the army to salvage the country from permanent dangers".
