Qahwaji: Lebanese Army Ready to Confront Any “Israeli” Aggression

Head of the Lebanese Army General Brigadier Jean Qahwaji comforted the Lebanese that the internal security situation is calm, stressing the importance of political reinforcement amidst the turmoil sweeping across the region.
In an interview with Lebanon TV, Qahwaji said "We work in politics, but we are always alert to put off any attempt to shake the security situation and kill any attempt to sow strife God forbid."
The General reassured the "readiness of the Lebanese army in confronting any "Israeli" aggression on any of the Lebanese territories, be it the land of Shebaa farms and the Kafarshouba Hills, or the sea and the martime economic region, in such a way that guarantees Lebanon's rights in retrieving its occupied land and guaranteeing its economic resources."
Qahwaji also stressed that the army is working hard to dismantle espionage rings and uncovering agents, considering that all army apparatuses are working hard on this level.
The Army Head also noted the importance of supporting the army, pointing out that "huge efforts are exerted in the context of arming it. He finally mentioned that he will be visiting Washington soon to discuss this issue.
