Speaker Berri: “Israel” Continues War on Lebanon with Cluster Bombs, Mines

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri assured that "Israel" continues its war on Lebanon through cluster bombs and mines, reminding that the spreading of these munitions has led to the martyrdom of 51 Lebanese citizens since the year 2006, at the time when the "Israeli" violation and aggression continues on Lebanon's rights.
During a meeting with the State Parties of the Second Meeting Convention on Cluster Munitions, Berri said that "Israel" rejected to compensate the victims of cluster bombs, wondering "Is it possible to separate between "Israel" and the use of internationally banned and lethal weapons, especially cluster bombs."
The speaker added that Israel "is, on purpose, turning Lebanon into a country with a distorted economy."
"Israel, during its war on Lebanon, violated our maritime borders, air space... and harmed the environment."
Berri also voiced his support for international efforts that aim to issue an act to prohibit cluster bombs.
