Sheikh Qassem: Resistance in Lebanon Project of Independence, Freedom and Liberation

Hizbullah Deputy Secretary General His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem said that the Resistance in Lebanon is a project of independence, freedom, and liberation. Sheikh Qassem's speech came during the 5th General Assembly of Ahlul Bayt (a.s) World Assembly in Tehran in presence of more than 500 attendees in addition to intellects, scholars, and figures.
He added "The Resistance in Lebanon is a project of independence, freedom, and liberation and has changed the equation of the new Middle East." Sheikh Qassem went on to say that the Resistance stopped the flow of the "Israeli" scheme, and built a state of popular solidarity in face of foreign tutelage as well as brought the national powers together in Lebanon.
"With our resistance, we will retrieve our land, independence, and dignity, and without these, we own nothing, not even life to the people of this region,' he said. Sheikh Qassem reiterated that despite all the challenges facing the resistance in Lebanon, it enjoys steadfastness and believes that the sacrifices of the mujahideen and martyrs especially during July 2006 paid off and resulted in the big victory against "Israel", which is the first of its kind.
During this meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei welcomed the guests and delivered a speech on the current issues of Islamic and Shia world.
Before the speech of Imam Khamenei, Sheikh Naeem Qasem (Lebanon), Ammar Hakim (Iraq), Sheikh Kazem (Saudi Arabia), Akbari (Afghanistan), Sultan (Bahrain) and Hajar Hussein (United States) had their remarks and Hujjatul-Islam Ahktari, Secretary General of Ahul Bayt (a.s) World Assembly gave a report on four-years achievement of Assembly and the 5th submit.
