Al-Akhbar Daily: LF to Politicize Former Patriarch Event to Circumvent Rai Stances

Lebanese daily al-Akhbar reported that the Lebanese Forces (LF) will try to exploit a ceremony honoring former Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir in the town of Lebaa eastern Saida. The LF is seeking to politicize the event through turning it into a crowded popular and political reception party, and has instructed to its supporters the importance of high attendance in the town.
Furthermore, al-Akhbar daily newspaper added that some political parties in the area accused the LF of trying to circumvent the stances of Patriarch Bechara Rai, who visited the same area last month during a tour to Saida and Jezzine in which he received a high popular reception.
The Lebanese daily further indicated that the LF preparations have already started, although Sfeir hasn't yet confirmed whether he will be attending the event in Lebaa or not.
