"Loyalty to Resistance Bloc" MP Nawaf Moussawi criticized United Nations' Secretary General Ban Ki-moon call to both the Lebanese and "Israeli" sides to stop performing exploration activities and exploration in what was called as maritime disputed area.
Stating that "this attitude only means to prevent Lebanon from the right to explore gas in this the region that is part of the exclusive economic Lebanese zone," the MP noted that "the "Israeli" attack described in this region could not be reduced through the UN, but Lebanon should move through feasible processes for the restoration of rights."
"We emphasize on behalf of "Amal" movement and Hizbullah, that Lebanon insists on its right for gas exploration as well as its whole exclusive economic zone," he added.
Moussawi pointed out that "our experience has shown that international organizations in the forefront of the UN and its various institutions are not able to protect our people and our families, and therefore we can neither accept the argument that the UN is to protect us nor can we wait for UN to be with us in face of our enemies."
