Palestinian Refugee Camps in Lebanon Celebrate “Loyalty of the Free”
Since the early morning of Tuesday, mosques and houses in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon chanted as if Eid al-Adhar had arrived. However, the joy which emitted from all the Palestinian homes in refugee camps of Lebanon, were to celebrate the implementation of first stage of the "Israeli"-Palestinian swap deal.
On this level, Saida's Ein el Helweh camp, one of the biggest Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, embraced its people who stayed tuned in their homes and coffee shops, at TV channels and giant screens that were installed in the camp to follow up the swap deal. Others distributed sweets to passersby, chanting national Palestinian songs, with fireworks filling the air.
The Palestinian Hamas Movement on its part organized marches in the streets of Ein el-Helweh, which transformed into a festival in presence of Palestinian children, women, and elders, who waved their national flags, emphasizing their support to the choice of resistance.
On his part, the Central Media official in the Popular Front General Command in Lebanon, Abu Wael Issam, believed, "This day is the day of victory; it's the day of detainees, the day of the freedom of the mujahedeen, strugglers, and resistant fighters. It is a great day".
On this blessed occasion, Issam congratulated the released detainees, their families, and the entire Palestinian nation for their freedom, affirming, "The choice of resistance is Jihad, and it is the only choice and path that returns homelands and detainees".
Moreover, he called upon all Palestinian sanctions to restore dialogue and enhance national unity on the basis of protecting the resistance and uprising, in order to confront the colonizing policy of the "Israeli" enemy.
Furthermore, Hamas Movement official in South Lebanon, Abu Ahmad Fadel, indicated, "Today is a national day, and is a day for the Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic nations. This is a day for the free and the mujahedeen; the day when the resistance and Qassam Brigades met their promise to return part of the detainees who have been sentenced to life-imprisonment".
He stressed, "Resistance is the only way to free detainees and homelands, and not the futile negotiations which haven't resulted in any good, nor have they released a detainee from "Israeli" prisons".
In addition, Foad Othman, Head of South Lebanon branch of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestinian, congratulated the detainees who have been released from "Israeli" prisons. He also congratulated the Palestinian people for this historical victory, which was accomplished with the will of resistance. "We hope the victory and joy would be complete with the release of all detainees", Othman stressed, further addressing the remaining detainees, saying that their freedom is soon to come.
The Secretary of Fatah movement in Ein el-Helweh refugee camp, Maher Shbaita, noted that the upcoming days will prove the effectiveness of the resistance which will seeks to capture more Zionist soldiers in order to release all detainees in "Israeli" prisons.
On another hand, Head of the Association of Released Palestinian Detainees in Lebanon, Mhanna Kassab, congratulated the Palestinian people and the whole nation on this historical achievement.
Not only did Palestinian factions and parties participate in this event, but Lebanese cities also shared the Palestinians their joy. Lebanese parties raised banners in which they expressed that the choice of resistance is the only way towards liberating the land and people from the clutches of the occupation.
