Lebanese Change and Reform Bloc member Saleem Salhab praised the Lebanese cabinet's decision adopted Wednesday to revoke former [Fuad] Siniora's government ruling to exempt mobile phone companies from paying fees and taxes required; so far estimated to be $48 million.

On this level, Salhab described that the aforementioned step came in the context of the reform plan, in which the path followed shouldn't remain within the prevalent methods of former governments. He further clarified "it would be one of the examples that would enhance some radical issues in the government's performance".
In an interview with al-Intiqad online newspaper, Change and Reform Bloc MP Salhab affirmed "it is one of the government's duties to recover the public money".

He noted, "This decision will be one of the ways through which the government would restore its rights from the organizations and workers, since 1992 until now". MP Salhab confirmed that "the government should perform its duty on the judicial level".

Whether the government decided to start an index to set things straight regarding the public funds, MP Salhab went on to say, "This is one of the indexes". He believed that there is a significant strong battle over the recovery of public money that was lost in vain.
Moreover, he explained, "If we can achieve a transparent budget unlike the previous ones, then we would have launched a correct path towards restoring the public money".

Furthermore, he added, "If we proved how the budgets should be, especially funds and independent files' budgets that weren't included in the former ones, there would be a good starting point for the government on the financial regard".
