Areslan after Meeting Assad: Syria Surpassed Ordeal, Will Become Stronger

Head of Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Areslan visited on Tuesday Syrian President Bashar Assad in Syria. MP Areslan was accompanied by Sheikh Nasreddine al-Gharib, and Minister of State Marwan Kheireddin during his official visit.
In a statement he delivered on the sidelines of his meeting with President Assad, MP Areslan clarified that during the meeting, both sides discussed local and regional issues, and precisely, the conspiracy targeting Syria.
In this context, Areslan stated, "The points of view were compatible on the level of interpreting the political scene in the region, especially regarding the scheme targeting all [regional countries] without exception."
"They started with Syria, for it represents the first Arab national defense line in confronting the Zionist schemes, which is supported by the West and some regional countries", MP Areslan clarified.
Furthermore, Head of the Lebanese Democratic movement stressed during the meeting on the importance of Syria under the leadership of President Assad, and praised his democratic reforms.
He reiterated his "permanent stance with Syria; its leader, government and people", further expressing denunciation regarding stances adopted by some parties in Lebanon and the region.
Also, MP Areslan confirmed that "Syria, the country that has throughout history taught lessons in civilization and authentic Arab nationalism, has today surpassed its ordeal and will return stronger than it was".
