Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour clarified that his stance presented in the Arab League (AL), opposing the suspension of Syria's membership, does not express his personal position or that of one political party, but it expresses the position of the Lebanese government.

In an interview with Lebanese daily As-Safir, Mansour indicated some remarks regarding the AL resolutions adopted.
In this context, he stated, "The report issued by the Arab committee, that is designated to follow up the situation in Syria, was presented to the Foreign Ministers after presenting the Arab draft resolutions".

"This is conventionally unacceptable. The Ministerial Council was supposed to discuss the report and its articles in objectivity and accuracy, and then discuss the resolutions ought to be adopted", Minister Mansour stressed.
He further noted, "This means there was something prepared beforehand, since the ministers were not given space to discuss the resolutions".

Lebanese Foreign Minister will be leaving to Morocco on Monday to take part in the Arab-Turkish Economic Forum in Rabat. He will also participate in the Arab Foreign Ministers Council's meeting that will be held in the Moroccan capital on November 16, to follow up the Syrian situation.

Moreover, he stressed, "Through calling for holding an Arab summit to follow up the situation in Syria, the latter conducts a constructive step and we should cooperate with it".
"This proves that Syria did not cut all relations with the AL, but it wants to prove its good will and desire to coordination with the AL in order to find the perfect solutions for the crisis in Syria", the Lebanese Foreign Minister affirmed.
