Franjieh: Syria to Remain United with its People, Army, Leadership

Marada Movement Leader MP Suleiman Franjieh condemned the Arab League decision of suspending Syria's membership in the league considering it "a concession position to US administration that is embarrassed because of its withdrawal from Iraq."

In an interview with Marada website, Franjieh wished that "the AL considered discussing the Syrian situation from the site of Arabism, resistance, hostility to" Israel" and a commitment."

Dismissing the efficacy of the economic and financial sanctions against Syria, he explained that Syrians are accustomed to sanctions and the Syrian people have proved to be in harmony with their regime and identity and this is what confounded the international community."

"As more sanctions are imposed, the more the Syrian people will be immune and convicted to his regime and country," the Marada leader stressed.

Without denying "the presence of a real opposition in Syria," he noted that this opposition opposes any foreign intervention even more than the regime does."

"However, there is a military armed position that works to destroy Syria and drag foreign intervention," Franjieh noted adding that "some of this opposition figures appear on "Israeli" channels condemning themselves by their acts."

Assuring that "Syria is united with its people, army, and leadership are stronger than conspiracies," he added stressing that he well knows President Bashar al-Assad and his relationship's relation to his people and land, so yes I'm comfortable."
