The "Israeli" occupation army on Monday morning martyred two Islamic Jihad resistance fighters in the West Bank town of Qabatiya, near Jenin. Palestinians reported that another resistance fighter was critically injured by "Israeli" army fire in the same incident.
"Israeli" occupation forces operated in the Jenin area on Sunday night and Monday morning. In the early morning, Palestinians reported that the soldiers had encircled a building in Qabatiya, where three members of the al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's military wing, were hiding. The Palestinians added that the military raid lasted several hours, and that the three resistance fighters were hit by "Israeli" fire.
One of the fighters martyred on the spot, while the other two were injured. The Palestinians said that the "Israeli" army did not let a Red Crescent ambulance evacuate the injured, and that one of them martyred from his wounds shortly afterwards. The two martyrs were identified as Ahmed Abu-Zeid and Amar Zakarena. The third fighter, who was critically wounded, was evacuated to the Jenin hospital for medical treatment.
The "Israeli" occupation army confirmed that an elite unit operating in Qabatiya shot and hit three fighters.
