TEHRAN--Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Friday called on Muslim heads of state to join hands to break the "Israeli" siege of Gaza.
"Muslim governments should break siege of Gaza and the Egyptian government and nation have a heavy duty in that concern. All Muslim nations should help the Egyptian government and nation fulfill the duty," said Ayatollah Khamenei in an address to the Islamic Republic Army Air Force personnel.
He said the problem with Palestine, siege of Gaza and massacre of Gazans are the result of the wrong Middle East policies of the US and of the Annapolis Conference.
He added, "At a time when Gaza boils in fire and blood, and (at a time when) the US President's tour of the region has ended up in disaster, any talks between regional states and the US and the usurper Zionist Regime will be futile."
The paramount leader said Arab states should be watchful that they or others from the Palestinian camp are not used against Gaza people because the dirty act will always remain as a dark stain.
Naming resistance as the only way for salvation of the Palestinian nation, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Resistance of the Palestinian nation and of Gazans against huge economic pressure, invasions and massacre is praiseworthy and Palestinian people should be careful of enemies' plot to divide Palestinian nation and the Palestinian government-elect."
Elsewhere in his address the Supreme Leader described elections in Iran as the healthiest worldwide and called on officials in charge to strictly observe law, which is the yardstick between the right and wrong.
The Islamic Republic Army Air Force met the Supreme Leader three days before the triumph anniversary (February 11) of the 1979 Islamic Revolution as a reminder of their meeting the same day 29 years ago with Father of Islamic Revolution and Founder of the Islamic Republic the late Imam Khomeini.
Ayatollah Khamenei said one should be careful not to make any injustice in anybody's case and honor public rights.
The paramount leader said that in line with the law, one should be careful not to name any incompetent individual and that rights of the qualified persons are not ignored.
Terming elections as a "decisive and crucial" scene, Ayatollah Khamenei said study on each term of elections in different junctures has shown that the global arrogance has been engaged in its hostile publicity to undermine public presence and discourage them but to no avail. "This shows importance of the elections," he added.
The Ayatollah also pointed to enemies' defeat in the face of the Iranian nation's democracy and said those, who have been pursuing adventurism, massacre and supported puppet regimes, have in dealing with Iranian nation's democracy claimed there is no freedom in elections in Iran and that Iranian people are less interested in attending them.
He said that in a bid to avoid the process, the enemies used some deceived elements to achieve their goal but failed.
Calling participation in the elections "a national duty", Ayatollah Khamenei said the duty is not changed with coming to power of different governments or different political wings and all should consider themselves obligated to take part in the process and should not try to seek any excuse for that.
Referring to public presence as the main issue with regards to the elections, Ayatollah Khamenei said those being somehow in charge of the elections, i.e. policy making, execution and so on, should fulfill their duties with regards to importance of public turnout.
