Hizbullah and PSP Hold Meetings Sponsored by Arslan
Source: Al-Manar TV, 03-10-2008
The Lebanese Democratic Party sponsored a series of meetings between the leaders of Hizbullah and the Progressive Socialist Party, as part of the reconciliation efforts that began in September with meetings in the house of LDP leader Minister Talal Arslan.
Officials from the three parties held their first meeting in Aramoun. All sides described the atmosphere as "positive," and agreed to discuss methods to strengthen communication between the three parties to avoid any possible dispute.
A second meeting was held in Aramoun to discuss the situation of Yahoudieh region in Bchamoun, and it was agreed to uncover anyone who undermined security and allow security forces to arrest them.
Another meeting was also held at an LDP office in Baysour, where attendees agreed to form a joint committee to allow domestic security authorities to arrest any party member involved in violence.
They also agreed to work to build a positive atmosphere in the schools and colleges of the region.
Yet another meeting was held in Shweifet, in an LDP office, during which the three parties focused on the need to strengthen relations between them and prevent any return to tensions.
