Sukkar says he will remain allied with Hizbullah
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 30-11-2008
MP Nader Sukkar said that he would continue to be allied with Hizbullah during the upcoming election campaign, since they are "bound by the same political stances and not just electoral interests."
In an interview with al-Balad daily on Sunday, Sukkar described Kataeb leader Amin Gemayel's speech, given during a commemoration of the assassination of his son, Pierre, on Sunday, as "provocative" and recommended that "we should wait and see how Kataeb behaves in the coming days."
"Christians' interests are tied to Lebanon's and Lebanese interests and good relations with Syria are to the benefit of Lebanon," he said.
"The Lebanese should be ready to receive Iranian assistance," he said, emphasizing that Iran "has always stood beside Lebanon, supported it in the face of the "Israeli" aggressions and is a friendly state."
