"Israeli" occupation army launched an attack in Gaza City on Wednesday, killing at least seven Hamas members, Palestinian medical staff said. The helicopter strike on the members of the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, in eastern Gaza city also wounded three people, they added.
Wednesday morning's toll was the highest in recent days.
Earlier hospital officials had said four people had been killed. An "Israeli" military spokeswoman confirmed "Israeli" troopers had been involved in an operation in the northern Gaza Strip. She claimed that "Israeli" troopers returned fire after coming under attack from small arms and anti-tank rockets, and then "Israeli" aircrafts were brought in.
