Areslan praises Army Commander for visiting Syria

Youth and Sports Minister Talal Areslan rejected criticism of Army Commander Gen. Jean Kahwaji for visiting Syria. During an official visit to Cuba on Tuesday, Areslan released a statement that said the "army is the corner stone that safeguards peace and stability, and the careful steps taken by its courageous commander Gen. Jean Kahwaji, which began with fighting terrorism, are in Lebanon's interests."
"We should not include the army in political and electoral disputes because the Lebanese Army is for all the Lebanese, without distinction," Areslan said.
