National Unity Forum hails visits by Lebanese officials to Syria

The National Unity Forum's General Secretariat said that "political and electoral bickering" were a sign of a healthy democracy so long as all sides took responsible positions.
After a meeting on Tuesday presided over by former Prime Minister Salim Hoss, the secretariat released a statement saying that the "national unity government experience should not be repeated because it is in opposition to the foundations of democracy." However, the secretariat hailed "positive developments in the Syrian-Lebanese relations," and said that "the visits made by the president, the interior and foreign ministers and the Army Commander had a positive effect in this regard as will the upcoming visit of General Michel Aoun."
