Yakan: March 14 criticism of visits to Syria aimed at obstructing elections
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 3-12-2008
Head of Islamic Labor Front Preacher Fathi Yakan criticized the "unjustified" campaign carried out by March 14 against the Lebanese army, Syria and any official that visits Syria.
In a statement on Wednesday, Yakan said that this campaign stemmed from Lebanese constitutional, judicial, security and military institutions. "It could be within the framework of preparing for a domestic rebellion or opening space for any foreign interference or "Israeli" attack which would eliminate all that has been achieved since the Doha agreement," he said.
Yakan said that March 14 was committing national treachery especially because, "those are tools for the American-Zionist project in Lebanon and all suspect projects in the region."
Yakan said that March 14 intended to obstruct the 2009 parliamentary elections after realizing that it would lose.
