Jumblatt Assails National Lebanese Army Commander Jean Kahwaji

Democratic Gathering bloc leader MP Walid Jumblatt has assailed National Lebanese Army Commander Jean Kahwaji saying that any Army Commander who respects himself would ask the Syrian officials about the Palestinians bases within Lebanon outside the refugee camps which are the smuggling path on the borders.
In a television interview on Wednesday night, that he disagreed with President Michel Suleiman because the joint statement issued during the Damascus summit on August was not enough and he called on both Suleiman and General Kahwaji to announce a clear position on the defense strategy.
In a response to a question, he said that he would not comment on Defense Minister Elias Murr speech or Prime Minister Fouad Saniora's clarification about the Army Command's visit to Damascus, which Saniora said was made with the recognition of the cabinet. He called for defining a clear agenda for these visits.
