Fneish: There is no connection between Russian jets and the defense strategy

Labor Minister Mohammad Fneish questioned whether the MiG Jet fighters offered by Russia would ensure Lebanon's safety and prevent "Israel" from attacking it again. Fneish said that there was no objective or logical connection between Lebanon having these jets and the defense strategy.

In an interview with Al-Diyar newspaper on Monday, Fneish said, "we presented our vision of the defense strategy and it is clear... we support the strong army and the strong and potent state. Is there anything clearer than the statement of Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in this regard about providing the capacities of the Lebanese army?" he said.

Fneish said that there were attempts by some to distort Hizbullah's image. He said that the party was ready for dialogue and objective and calm discussion.

He added that Hizbullah would listen to the defense strategy proposals that would be presented by Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea in today's dialogue session and it would accordingly present its remarks.
