Geagea Could Have Been Done with Aoun in a Few Hours!!
Source: Al-Manar TV, 17-10-2008
'Had we acted on the Christian stage like Hizbullah on May 7, we would have been done with Aoun in a few hours!'
According to Lebanese daily As-Safir, this "precious" declaration has been made by the Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea in the framework of his three-day visit to Egypt.
Indeed, five months on the May 7 incidents, it seems that Geagea is still "regretful" for keeping silent and not interfering. He, nevertheless, believes that if he did and acted on the Christian stage like Hizbullah, it wouldn't have taken for him more than a few hours to be done with his strongest Christian rival, the head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun.
Geagea, who suddenly visited Cairo and discussed the Lebanese issue with Egyptian figures only hours after verbally raiding at Aoun's visit to Iran, seems so upset from the General, believed to have the largest representation in the Christian stage.
But Geagea, who has always sought to doubt this representation claiming that Christians were
more or less equally divided between the two major blocs, also seemed to have changed his mind and raised his "dreams."
"We in the Lebanese Forces and the March 14 coalition, represent more than 80% of the
Christian population," Geagea has reportedly declared when discussing the forthcoming parliamentary elections in closed meetings with Egyptian officials according to As-Safir.
It's worth mentioning that Geagea's press office denied in a statement it released hours after As-Safir report saying that his forces are capable of defeating FPM leader Michel Aoun's partisans within hours.
GEAGEA PREDICTS WAR ON LEBANON AS RESULT OF WAR ON IRAN!
Meanwhile, Geagea predicted "war on Lebanon as a result of war on Iran." Geagea said the Middle East would be the terrain for "a major war followed by smaller wars."
However, he said it is unlikely that Hizbullah would repeat what he called the "2006 adventure," expecting at the same time that the Resistance party would respond to the assassination of its military commander martyr Imad Moghnieh (Hajj Redwan) "on other terrain and against different targets."
Speaking to Kuwaiti daily Al-Rai and Egyptian daily Roz al-Youssef, Geagea said that the establishment of diplomatic ties between Lebanon and Syria should be complemented by discussing the issue of the Lebanese detainees in Syrian prisons, border demarcation and the Syrian military bases under a Palestinian cover, without accusing Palestinian refugee camps of anything.
